After his spacecraft crashes on an uncharted alien planet, a lone pilot must learn to survive in a breathtaking but lethal ecosystem governed by unfamiliar laws of evolution. Based on Worlds: A Mission of Discovery, an illustrated science-fiction book by creature-effects artist and two-time Academy Award nominee Alec Gillis (ALIEN, STARSHIP TROOPERS).

Daniel Shafer and Tobey Maguire set up the feature adaptation at Sony Pictures and developed it with Academy Award-winning writer Christopher McQuarrie (THE USUAL SUSPECTS, MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE, TOP GUN: MAVERICK) and screenwriter Jeff Vintar (I, ROBOT).
