Shafer frequently visited the set while working with Maguire. During the filming of Peter Parker’s notorious jazz-club sequence, Shafer inadvertently found himself in the director’s way, prompting Raimi to invite him to join the scene as a Jazz Club Guest, where he sat alone at a table. It was Shafer’s only involvement with the film and is only noticeable using slow motion playback.
