In the years following World War II, journalist and activist Stetson Kennedy infiltrates the Ku Klux Klan, risking exposure and death as he uncovers the organization's secret rituals, political influence and campaign of racial terror. By feeding inside information to law enforcement, the press and the team behind the radio serial The Adventures of Superman, Kennedy turns the Klan's own mythology against it and wages an unconventional war to break its power.

Based on Kennedy’s first-person exposé, originally published in 1954 as I Rode with the Ku Klux Klan and later reissued as The Klan Unmasked.

Daniel Shafer, Tobey Maguire and Mark Ross developed the adaptation for Sony Pictures with producer Barri Evans, Academy Award-winning writer Christopher McQuarrie (THE USUAL SUSPECTS, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, TOP GUN: MAVERICK) and Academy Award-nominated screenwriters Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (CHILDREN OF MEN, IRON MAN).
